How to use handmade soap?
For sensitive skin, it is recommended that do a skin test before using it. Test it on your arm or ear. Avoid the soap get into your eyes. If accidentally get into your eyes, no need to panic, simply rinse immediately with water can. Wet the soap, gently rub till having bubble then apply on you face or body. Try to keep your soap dry; do not soak in water because this will shorten the number of usage. Even is natural materials, you have to do sensitive skin test.

Will handmade soap causing our skin discomfort?
Some people will face dry, rough skin and acne problem. This may be because of long-term in using cleanser, shower gel which contains a large number of synthetic chemicals. This chemical will remain on our skin. When this soap contact with your skin, your skin will unable to restore balance within a short period of time, so you will feels dry and tight. For some people they will face acne problem, this is because your skin try to detox. Therefore, it is recommended that for first time user try to wash with as much of water as possible. After that use a clean towel to gently wipe your skin then apply mild moisturizer. Generally after 20 -30 days your skin will adapt to the soap.

如何使用手工皂?
如有敏感肤质的人，建议在使用前用手臂或耳后先做皮肤测试。使用时请避免让皂液进入眼睛，如不小心入眼，无须惊慌，只需立即用水冲洗干净即可。使用时可将香皂打湿，用手轻轻搓揉，起泡后涂抹，皂液在脸上停留30秒内，以便让皮脂膜在最短的时间内恢复平衡状态。使用完香皂后，应放在透水的皂盒里，尽量保持香皂的干爽，千万不可泡在水里，那样会缩短使用的次数。即使是很天然的材料，也要先做敏感测试。

使用手工皂会对皮肤造成不适吗?
有些人使用冷制皂后会出现皮肤干燥粗糙，起小痘痘等类似化妆品过敏的现象。这可能是因为长期使用含有大量化学合成界面活性剂的洗面乳，沐浴乳等。它们洗的时候不易冲洗干净，洗后残留在皮肤上虽然感觉滑滑的，其实皮肤的正常皮脂膜久而久之已被破坏。当冷制皂的弱碱性接触皮肤后，失去正常功能的皮脂膜无法在短时间内恢复酸碱平衡，所以才感觉干燥，紧绷，敏感皮肤甚至会排泄毒素而起小痘痘。

 因此，建议刚开始使用冷制皂清洁时，尽量多用水冲洗，洗后用干净毛巾轻轻按拭皮肤吸收水分，然后使用温和的(最好是植物性的)化妆水及乳液保湿护肤。一般20-30天后皮肤会适应皂皂的，因为皮肤的更新奏起是28天左右。

Handmade soap contains 25% natural glycerin which is extremely moisturizing and gentle to the skin.

Sodium Laureth Sulfate VS Our Skin
Sodium Laureth  Sulfate (SLS) is a common foaming agent used in most of the commercial soaps or cleansing products. While it produces rich foams, it irritates the skin and rips its moisture. Prolong usage of products containing SLS may cause various skin problems, such as chemo sensitivity, eczema, acne, etc. Living Story Natural Handmade Soap is SLS-free, a mild cleanser of your choice.

Wax & Solidifier
Pure soap turns soft quickly when it comes into contact with water. Therefore, mass manufacturers tend to add wax or solidifiers to increase the hardness of the soap. These soaps harden easily and can be used for a longer time so buyers will perceive them as inexpensive. However, bear in mind that these additives are harmful to our skin and would lead to skin allergies.

How to make handmade soap?
Handmade soaps are also called DIY soaps. There are three main ingredients, namely oil/fats, NaOH and water. Handmade soaps produce rich and delicate foam which deeply removes impurities hidden in the pores. Our skin will appear to be lustrous and supple. Natural essential oils, herbs or flower petals can be added to the soap, enhancing its benefits and making it more exquisite.

蜡&硬化剂
因为纯皂易软化，所以一般工业皂会用蜡或硬化剂来增加皂的硬度。这样肥皂就可以使用很久，而买家也不会觉得贵了。但是，这些添加物会伤害肌肤进而导致过敏。

The Origin of Handmade Soap
Marseille soap or Savon de Marseille originated in France and is made solely from vegetable oils. It has strong cleansing and moisturizing properties. This soap traditionally contains 72% fatty acid produced from olive oil only. In the 17th century, Louis XIV of France introduced regulations on the production of Savon de Marseille. The Marseille area had a total of 90 soap factories in the 19th century, pioneering the era of the chemical industry. Production reached a peak at 180,000 tons by 1913, but had loses its appeal with the rapid growth of mainstream cleansing products since 1950.

手工皂的来源 - 马赛皂（法语：Savon de Marseille)
马赛皂源自法国，是一种清洁能力强，用于身体保湿的香皂。它是通过精炼植物油以及氢氧化钠进行皂化而成的产品。传统马赛皂的必要指标就是必须含有仅从橄榄油中制得的72%的脂肪酸。在十七世纪，法国的路易十六规定了这种香皂的制作标准。到了十九世纪，马赛地区拥有90家制皂厂，这个兴盛的产业处于化学领域的前列。1913年其产量达到18万吨，攀上巅峰。1950年以后，主流清洁剂的迅猛发展则加速了马赛皂的衰败。
